形态描述
体细长，稍侧扁，尾部甚扁薄。吻极尖，前端有1尖长的吻突。口裂浅。具细齿。有眼下刺。体鳞甚细。背鳍基长，前部由35枚左右游离短棘组成；臀鳍具棘2枚，且连尾鳍；胸鳍短圆；无腹鳍。体侧有多数块状网纹或纵波纹。
生物学
Body eel-like, dorsal fin preceded by 35 isolated spines, anal fin with 2 spines, both fins long and touch with the caudal fin, body covered with small scales. This spiny eel inhabits the gravel bottom of the streams to the south of the Changjiang River. A food fish, the maximum weight is about 500 g.
